Royal Gala Apple / Maçã Royal Gala
The Royal Gala Apple is originally from New Zealand in the 1960s and consists of a cross between the “Kidd’s Orange” apple and the “Golden Delicious” apple. It is one of the main apple varieties produced in Portugal, being easily recognized for having an epidermis characterized by a streaked red. Characterized by being a very crunchy and juicy apple, and by its sweet flavor, the Royal Gala is also nutritious, being a good source of fiber, calcium, iron and vitamin C.
