Corn
In a video shown at the National Opening of the Corn Harvest 2021, this Thursday, 22, in Primavera do Leste (MT), the Iranian ambassador to Brazil, Hossein Gharibi, said that, in the last decade, the Islamic country has been the largest destination for Brazilian corn, responsible for 25% of cereal shipments abroad. “Brazil is unbeatable in terms of price and quality, from the point of view of Iranian companies,” he said. According to Gharibi, Iran imports 8 million tons of corn per year, most of it from Brazil. “I am in favor of sustainable trade between us. As there is complementarity between our economies, we have unique barter opportunities, as we supply necessary items to Brazilian producers and, in exchange, we acquire our own soybean and corn imports from Brazil. This makes our trade more profitable and sustainable in the interests of both parties,” he said. The National Opening of the Corn Harvest 2021 is an event held by the Mais Milho Project, from Canal Rural.
